When Firefox 3 was officially released, the Google Toolbar was not supported. Of course, that didn’t stop me from manually updating the MaxVerison myself so that it would work. Although it didn’t take long for Google to release a new version that officially supported Firefox 3, I was disappointed as there were no new features to be found. It seems all they really did was update the MaxVersion as I had already done.
I’m pleased to say that Google has finally announced a new version of the Google Toolbar for Firefox that actually has new features! Google Toolbar 5 for Internet Explorer was announced back in December of 2007, and yesterday it finally made it to Firefox. Here are some of the new features:
- Add Google Gadgets
- Fill in forms with the AutoFill feature
- Synchronize toolbar settings across different computers (I’m assuming this feature works even work across IE and Firefox browsers as well)
- Google Notebook integration
- Suggestions instead of 404 pages
So what are you waiting for? Go and download Google Toolbar 5 for Firefox!
